Location

The Eagle River Methodist Camp is located at 27500 Glacier Hwy. On the map, this looks like it’s in the middle of nowhere – because it is! We wanted our day to be a fully immersive Alaskan experience – which includes getting married in a remote location! Luckily for all of us, this is on the road system! We recommend saving or printing these directions since phone service close to the Methodist Camp is pretty spotty.

Driving to the camp:

Plan on at least 30 minutes to drive to the camp. From anywhere in Juneau, head towards the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal. Then drive past it. Continue on for about 15 miles; you’ll pass a number of beautiful scenic lookout points, so plan to start just a little early so you can stop to take pictures! Keep an eye out for the “Eagle River” sign on the right. Once you cross the Eagle River bridge, the entrance to the camp will be on your right. If you reach Eagle Beach State Recreation Area, you’ve gone just a little bit too far.
